Deputy Akim of the region Nurbol Turashbekov paid a working visit to Saryagash district today, where he met with a number of greenhouse owners. Farmers voiced requests to stabilize prices for solid fuels, regulate imports of vegetables and fruits, and also asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply in winter. At the moment, there is no shortage of coal in the area.
Nurbol Turashbekov noted that the necessary measures will be taken on the issues raised within the framework of legislation, and gave specific instructions to the responsible specialists of the regional department of agriculture and the district administration.
The total area of greenhouses in the Turkestan region is 1,640 hectares, which is 71 percent of the national figure. In the first 9 months of this year, 150,000 tons of vegetables were harvested in the greenhouses of the region, which made it possible to meet the needs of the country's population in the off-season period by 42 percent at the expense of local products. Currently, as part of the development of industrial greenhouses, 3 projects are being implemented on an area of 602 hectares. As a result, it is planned to create 6,150 new jobs, and the volume of products harvested from greenhouses will increase by 180 thousand tons. This will make it possible to fully provide the country's population with greenhouse products in the off-season period.
