On December 10-11 this year, the 5th meeting of the Kazakh-Jordanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation was held in Amman (Jordan) with the participation of Vice Minister of Transport Lastaev T.T.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baybazarov Nurlan Serikovich and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Yarub Al-Kuda.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan were discussed.
Issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, as well as the development of transport corridors and logistics were discussed. Separately, the need to open direct flights was voiced, as well as the readiness of the Kazakh side to participate in railway projects in terms of the supply of track structures (rails, sleepers, fasteners, etc.).An agreement has been reached to hold negotiations in the first half of 2025 to work out the signing of an agreement that will allow airlines to operate regular flights between Kazakhstan and Jordan.
Following the meeting, the protocol of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation was signed.
The parties stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation in these areas and agreed on new initiatives aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The next meeting is scheduled in Astana (Kazakhstan).
