On July 10, 2025, an important event dedicated to the Day of Veterinary Workers was held in Shymkent. It was noted that currently one of the main tasks is to strengthen the material and technical base of veterinary stations in cities and villages, provide them with mobile laboratories, and ensure that there is a sufficient supply of necessary medicines and equipment. It was also noted that the local akimat is providing support in these areas. The peculiarity of this event is its focus on working directly with a specific target audience. In previous years, Veterinary Day was often limited to official gatherings and awards. For example, in 2022 and 2023, this holiday was held in Shymkent with conferences, round tables and events to honor veteran veterinarians. However, this time the professional holiday was used as a platform to address the current issues of the industry. Events of this format help to strengthen the relationship between society and veterinary services, as well as to raise the status of specialists. Young specialists also actively participated in this event and received training from experienced colleagues. Currently, the livestock population in Kazakhstan has increased to 9.6 million heads, and the area of land sown with fodder is 3.3 million hectares. In this regard, the government aims to accelerate development by allocating 160 billion tenge from the budget. The main result is the creation of a comprehensive (circular) traceability of products. A meeting of the city commission on organizing the national competition "Celebratory Family-2025" was held in Shymkent. The provision of sewage systems to settlements in Shymkent continues. Last September, work began on providing the Aikap-Turkestan microdistrict with a sewage system. Construction work is being carried out by “Agidel-As” LLP. The facility will be put into operation by the end of the year. The construction of the sewer system in the North-West microdistrict, which began in August last year, will be completed in May this year. As a result, 567 residents will be connected to the sewer system. Last year, work in this direction was carried out in the Nurtas microdistrict, where 17,970 residential buildings are now connected to centralized sewage networks. Currently, the Turan microdistrict of Shymkent is being cleaned. "Construction of a sewer collector along the Almaty highway prior to construction" is underway.
