Once fully operational, the facility will process up to 210,000 tons of potatoes annually and produce approximately 70,000 tons of finished products. The plant will become a central hub in PepsiCo’s regional supply chain, serving both domestic demand and export markets across Central Asia. The development of mass sports and the formation of a healthy lifestyle culture remain among the key priorities outlined by the Head of State. Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov arrived in Kostanay region on a working visit. The airport will be able to receive aircraft such as AN-24, Q400 and CRJ 200 and provide a capacity of up to 70 passengers per hour.A project for the construction of the Center-West highway, which will pass through Arkalyk and connect the capital with the Trans-Caspian international route, was also presented. This transport corridor will increase connectivity between regions and strengthen the city's logistics potential.⸻Modernization of the heat supply systemModernization of heat power facilities continues in Arkalyk. To date, 17 km of heating networks have been replaced, and another 9.9 km are planned to be updated this year. The transition from fuel oil to coal has significantly reduced costs and ensured a stable heating season without emergency shutdowns. The work is being carried out in stages in order to further reduce the wear and tear of heating networks.⸻Development of social infrastructureAs part of the national project "Comfortable School", a new general education institution for 300 students was commissioned in Arkalyk. The educational institution is equipped with a modern material and technical base: a digital library, a STEM laboratory, robotics rooms and creative studios.Plans to strengthen higher education are being implemented. Arkalyk Pedagogical University named after Ybyrai Altynsarin is expanding its infrastructure. One of the buildings is being reconstructed to create a modern educational space. The project will increase the number of students from 2.6 to 5.2 thousand, as well as expand the range of educational and scientific programs.In healthcare, a major overhaul of the maternity hospital building of the Arkalyk Regional Hospital is underway. The roof, water supply, heating, and sewerage systems are being updated, and interior finishing is being carried out. The overall readiness of the facility is 70%. After completion of all work, the maternity hospital will be equipped with new medical equipment and brought into line with modern standards.⸻Arkalyk is a city with growth potentialThe visit of the Prime Minister confirmed the attention of the Government to the development of the Turgay region. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s readiness to continue active cooperation with the OSCE across a wide range of pressing issues.The parties discussed a broad spectrum of collaboration within the OSCE’s economic and environmental dimension, including sustainable development, transport connectivity, environmental protection, the climate agenda, and the fight against corruption and money laundering.Deputy Minister Vassilenko commended the productive cooperation between the OCEEA and Kazakh government bodies, particularly with the Asset Recovery Committee of the General Prosecutor’s Office. On Telephone Conversation between Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and France 19.05.2025
Astana, May 14, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a telephone conversation with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Jean-Noël Barrot at the initiative of the French side.The talks focused on the state and prospects of Kazakh-French cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as investment and education projects.The ministers highlighted the outcomes of the two countries’ interaction last year, noting the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the state visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France in November 2024.Both officials expressed mutual interest in further deepening the strategic partnership and expanding ties between Astana and Paris.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa/press/news/details/995429?lang=kk
