The U14–U18 Rapid and Blitz World Youth Championships will be held in Terme Ciatej (Slovenia) from December 14 to December 16, 2024. Young chess players of Kazakhstan won 10 medals, including 2 gold medals (Elnaz Kaliakhmet and Daniyal Sapenov).
"This year continues to delight chess fans. We have a record number of medals, most of which were won by very young guys. The Rapid and Blitz World Youth Championships were no exception and provided a new reason for pride. We have 10 medals in our collection. I congratulate the chess players, their coaches and parents on their amazing results. I am sure that this is just the beginning of a great sporting journey," said Timur Turlov, President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation.
More than 320 young chess players from 36 countries are participating in the U14–U18 Rapid & Blitz World Youth Championships (FIDE World Youth Rapid & Blitz Championships 2024). The participants include 1 Grandmaster (GM), 4 International Masters (IM), 1 International Women's Master (WIM), 37 FIDE Masters (FM) and 15 Women's FIDE Masters (WFM).
KazChess/The Kazakhstan Chess Federation is represented by 16 young chess players. Only the hosts of the championship (115) and the Croats (33), Poles (22) and Slovaks (19) claimed more.
On December 14-15, participants raffled off awards in Rapid 15+10, playing 11 rounds according to the Swiss system. Chess players of Kazakhstan won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.:

On December 16, young chess players completed a marathon blitz 3+2 – 22 round (the opponents played two games – white and black) according to the Swiss system. Chess players of Kazakhstan won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.:
