Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mansur Oshurbayev met with representatives of Synergy Consulting Infrastructure and Financial Advisory Inc., Mr. Ankit Chaturvedi and Mr. Bahr Abdukadirov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
As you know, Kazakhstan has joined all major international environmental agreements.
For example, last year at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), the Head of State made a statement on Kazakhstan's accession to Global Commitments on methane.
Currently, on behalf of the Head of State, work is underway to plant 2 billion trees by 2027.
"Taking into account the territory of the country, Kazakhstan has a huge potential for the implementation of offset forest projects. Today, a project is being implemented to plant a carbon forest in the Akmola region with a total area of over 14.5 thousand hectares and a project to plant a new biodiversity forest in the Almaty region with a total area of 3.5 thousand hectares," M.Oshurbayev said.
The parties also discussed issues of reducing waste generation and the construction of waste recycling plants with the involvement of investors.
In conclusion, the Vice Minister expressed hope for fruitful cooperation in the implementation of projects aimed at solving environmental problems and ensuring a sustainable future for all.
