35 Kazakhstani universities are included in the prestigious QS Asia University Rankings 2025. Of these, 13 are from Almaty.
According to representatives of the QS agency, Kazakhstani universities participating in the rating demonstrated the dynamics of positions: almost two thirds improved their last year's results.
Thus, 22 Kazakhstani universities have increased their positions, three universities retain their position. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University appears in the top hundred of the rating. Satbayev University is also in the top 100, ranking 89th.
One university, the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, returns to the rating after a one–year break, entering the 801-850 category.
It should be noted that 985 universities from 25 countries and territories participated in the ranking of the best universities in Asia. The universities of India, China, Japan and South Korea are the most competitive for Kazakhstani universities.
The rating was compiled by the QS Quacquarelli Symonds agency, one of the most reputable in the world, which has a great impact on the reputation and recognition of universities. QS evaluates universities according to criteria such as academic reputation, reputation among employers, teacher-student ratio, scientific publications and participation in international research.
