Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov arrived in the Abai region on a working visit. He visited the region's sports facilities and got acquainted with their activities. The Minister inspected the ongoing activities aimed at improving and developing the sports infrastructure of the region.
First of all, the head of the department visited the Arena cultural and sports complex, which was commissioned in 2020. This complex has all the necessary conditions for children to freely engage in sports such as basketball, football, tennis, water polo and swimming. Modern equipment is installed here, there are spacious and comfortable playgrounds, which creates excellent opportunities for sports.
In addition, the minister met with the trainers of the region, listened to their opinions and suggestions, and also drew attention to the working conditions and problems of local specialists. At the meeting, he noted the importance of training the Olympic reserve. The Minister stated the need to develop and implement special programs and projects to solve this problem.
He also stressed the importance of improving the skills of coaches and providing them with educational programs. The Minister paid special attention to sports medicine, which plays a key role in maintaining the health of athletes and organizing an effective training process.
During the visit, Erbol Myrzabosynov visited the regional specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve No. 1 in Semey, named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.
Here, children practice boxing, judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, cycling, taekwondo (WT, ITF), sports and combat sambo, as well as volleyball.
"Today, summer and winter Olympic, non-Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic sports are actively developing in the Abai region. There is also a growing interest in national sports. As you know, the 5th World Nomad Games were held in our capital in September. Athletes of the Abai region won 3 gold and 2 silver medals.
One of the main sporting events of next year will be the Asian Winter Games, which will be held in the Chinese city of Harbin. Preparations are currently underway to ensure the successful performance of our athletes. 139 athletes of the Kazakhstan national team in 6 sports are expected to participate, including 4 athletes from the Abai region.: 2 biathletes and 2 skiers," the minister noted.
