Strong wind and snowstorm continue in Astana. The city's emergency department asks drivers to be extremely careful while traveling, the official website of the Mayor's office of the capital reports.
"The Department of Emergency Situations of Astana city informs that according to the RSE Kazhydromet, a grass-roots snowstorm is expected in Astana on November 8 at night. The wind is southwesterly at night, gusts of 15-20 m/s," rescuers warned.
The department appealed to drivers to be extremely careful on the roads.
The Emergency Department of Astana recommends that citizens follow safety measures to avoid injury in strong winds:
- do not rush out of buildings (stay indoors if possible);
- take children under special control, it is important not to leave them unattended;
- if you are outside during a strong wind, take shelter in the nearest entrance or store;
- do not hide from the strong wind near the walls of houses, as the roof materials may fall;
- you can not hide in open public transport stops, under billboards, trees, in unfinished buildings;
- it is very dangerous to stand under a power line in strong winds and approach broken electrical wires;
- It is recommended to park your personal car at a safe distance from the trees.
During emergency situations, it is necessary to call 101 and 112.
