Major investment projects for the production of green hydrogen and the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of 50 MW per day are being implemented in the Mangystau region. This was announced by Akim of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybai at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
According to the akim of the region, the Sarkylmas Kuat wind power plant, which will be built in the village of Munaishi, Karakiyansky district, is scheduled to be commissioned in 2025.
The project, worth 13.474 billion tenge, covers an area of 45.5 hectares. It consists of 8 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW. 120 people will be involved in the construction, and 15 people will be provided with permanent jobs during the operation phase.
In addition, according to the instructions of the Head of State, it is planned to build a hybrid power plant using renewable energy sources in the city of Zhanaozen.
According to the project, a solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MW (75,000 units), a wind power plant with a capacity of 77 MW (11 units) and a gas-piston power plant with a capacity of 120 MW will produce electricity. The construction period is 2024-2026.
A project for the production of "green" hydrogen will also be implemented in the region.
"As part of the green hydrogen production project implemented by the German company Svevind, a desalination plant, renewable energy stations (wind, solar) with a capacity of 40 gigawatts and an electrolysis plant with a capacity of 20 GW will be built, which makes it possible to produce 2 million tons of green hydrogen or 11 million tons of green ammonia per year. 50 billion euros will be invested in the project, 3,500 jobs will be created during construction, and 1,800 permanent jobs will be created during operation. The project will be fully commissioned in 2030," said Nurdaulet Kilybai.
