This year, a 56-hectare plot of land has been allocated in the Tupkaragan district for the construction of a farm for the production of sturgeon fish and caviar. Construction of the farm is expected to start in early 2025. After the launch of the project, 30 permanent jobs will be created.
For example, a well-known Swiss fish farm is implementing a project to breed sturgeon fish in a swimming pool and produce table caviar. The project cost is 4.2 billion tenge. A project for the cultivation of crayfish and fish is underway in the Karakiyansky district.
In 2025-2027, it is planned to implement 8 investment projects worth 12 billion tenge.
Among them, the largest is the project of the Organic fish partnership for the cultivation of sturgeon species using mesh fencing. The project capacity is 5 thousand tons of fish per year, the cost of investments is 7.4 billion tenge.
After a 30-year hiatus, professional fishing began to develop in Mangystau. A number of investors were attracted to revive the economy, which developed intensively during the Soviet era and then stopped. Modern vessels for fishing in the Caspian Sea have been purchased today. Four more vessels are planned to be purchased next year.
Thus, in 2025 it is planned to catch up to 20 thousand tons of fish in the sea.
