Within the framework of the international exhibition on feed and veterinary medicine "Jaña Dala / VetAstana '2024", a round table was organized on key issues of the development of the veterinary industry and animal husbandry in Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin, Chairman of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee Kazbek Tashimov, deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament, representatives of domestic development institutions, as well as experts from public organizations and associations.
The participants of the round table discussed topical issues of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry, prospects for improving the epizootic situation in the country, including digitalization of processes, improving the quality of veterinary services and preparing for new industry challenges.
Ensuring epizootic impact is a key factor in food security and livestock development in the country. To this end, the Ministry of Agriculture carries out vaccinations against 23 particularly dangerous diseases and diagnostic studies on 25 types of diseases.
Work is underway to create a stable and developed veterinary system that ensures complete digitization of processes and constant monitoring of the epizootic situation on the ground. In order to ensure biological safety and stimulate the development of the biopharmaceutical sector, JSC "National Holding "QazBioPharm" was established.
Thanks to the measures taken in recent years, the spread of diseases such as brucellosis, anthrax and pasteurellosis has been reduced by 2.3 times compared to the same period in 2022 and by 28.5% compared to 2023.
The status of African horse plague, classical swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease has been restored in five regions of Kazakhstan, restrictions on meat exports to Russia, China, Turkey and Belarus have been lifted.
The main veterinary information system "Identification of farm animals" has been supplemented with new modules for controlling the movement and slaughter of animals, meat quality, as well as functions for controlling quotas and animal export. In the future, it is planned to digitize import-export operations to identify products according to the principle of "producer – processing – market – consumer".
The regulation of all processes will be reflected in the changes aimed at improving veterinary legislation. Kazakhstan is actively increasing the production of agricultural products, which creates economic export potential. Its implementation requires compliance with international standards aimed at protecting consumer health.
The round table has become an important platform for the exchange of experience between qualified specialists in the field of veterinary medicine, discussion of further cooperation and expansion of the feed market and feed directions.
