In January-September 2024, the short-term economic indicator of Almaty accelerated to 104.1%. This was reported in the city Department of economics.
"In the first half of the year, Almaty's GRP grew by 3.5% (in Kazakhstan – by 3.2%). The drivers of economic growth were transport (+21.6%) and construction (+11%). According to the results of 9 months of 2024, the growth rate of food industry production is recovering. The index of food production increased from 84.6% (January 2024) to 89.3%, beverages – from 56.9% (January 2024) to 91.3%," the Department of Economics noted.
At the same time, the business activity index increased to 53.4% in September.
In general, by the end of 2024, the growth of the Almaty economy is expected at the level of 5.5%, in 2025 it is projected at the level of 6.4%.
