This year, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan has achieved significant results in the field of culture and art. This year has become an important period for the country and is remembered for many large-scale events that define the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the Kazakh people. Organized exhibitions, festivals and tours contributed to the strengthening of domestic cultural ties and the active promotion of Kazakh culture abroad. The Ministry completed its work in 2024.
One of the most important events of the year is the opening of cultural centers in Beijing (Republic of Kazakhstan) and Astana (PRC). The event was attended by the leaders of the two countries, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping. These centers have become an effective platform for organizing cultural events.
This year, Kazakh art was presented for the first time at world–famous venues: the Venice Biennale and the National Museum of Asian Art. About two hundred thousand people watched these exhibitions.
The tours of Kazakhstani creative groups abroad were successful and covered 14 countries, such as France, Vietnam, Turkey, and the USA. These events have strengthened international ties and contributed to the promotion of Kazakh culture abroad. New creative groups were created - the multinational Birlik song and Dance Ensemble and the State Quintet. In addition, 255 cultural students participated in China, Italy, Great Britain, Austria, the USA, Turkey, and the Czech Republic. Spain and other countries have won international competitions.
The days of culture of Kazakhstan in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were marked as an important part of cultural diplomacy. In addition, this year Kazakhstan hosted the Days of Culture of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia. This indicates the activity of cultural exchange and cooperation between States.
In 2024, the names of Kazakhstani figures were announced. Monuments to people like Kurmangazy and Abai have been erected in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Tatarstan.
One of the notable events is the opening and closing ceremony of the V World Nomad Games, which attracted more than 17,000 spectators. A big concert by the famous Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen was organized at the closing ceremony of the games.
In addition, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's painting "The Beautiful Princess". This exhibition was watched by more than 37 thousand viewers.
From the tours conducted during the year, it is worth noting that the Astana Opera collective staged the opera "Abai" on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The performance was greeted with applause from the audience and showed the real interest of the Russian audience in Kazakhstani art.
The last tour of the Astana Opera collective this year took place in Dubai, where the ballet "The Nutcracker" was watched by 12 thousand spectators. .
The Famous Petersburg" concert of the State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Saltanat" took place on the stage of the Baltic House Theater Festival.
Kazakh National Ballet of Opera and Ballet named after Abai. The Khan Sultan Theater. In Turkey, the Golden Horde opera was watched by more than 4 thousand viewers.
One of the notable achievements is the launch of the Culture of Kazakhstan information and educational platform. This platform distributes information in eight languages, including the six official languages of the United Nations, Kazakh and Turkish. This initiative is aimed at familiarizing the world with the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
