Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek wrote on his Instagram page about the problems raised at a meeting with residents of the Baikonur district, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
"I held a reporting meeting with residents of the Baikonur district. The meeting lasted 5 hours. Everyone could voice their questions and suggestions in the "open microphone" format.
Residents raised questions about the construction of social facilities (schools, kindergartens, medical institutions), roads, engineering networks, courtyards and public spaces, landscaping of the district, etc.
At meetings, residents repeatedly raised the issue of electricity supply in the Ondiris housing estate. So, this year, the transfer of the power supply networks of ECH-8 to the balance sheet of Astana-REC was completed. This will make it possible to upgrade and eliminate network failures more quickly.
In addition, we are also carrying out demolition work on dilapidated emergency housing in the area. By the end of the year, 9 emergency houses are planned to be demolished in the district. Work is also underway on the construction of other social facilities.
For a comfortable stay of citizens in the area, 7 modern public spaces were landscaped, pedestrian sidewalks with ramps extending almost 10 km were equipped, 12 streets were paved, etc.
The questions received at the meeting were taken into account. We will divide them into short-term, medium-term and long-term ones," the mayor of the capital wrote.
