Kazakhstan and Iran discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in the fields of tourism and sports

Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Joukar in Astana. The parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and sports.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the department noted the centuries-old historical ties between the countries, and also stressed the successful performance of the Iranian side in the 5th World Nomad Games held in the capital of Kazakhstan. The Minister expressed confidence in the importance of further cooperation for the implementation of joint projects.
"Kazakhstan invites representatives of the Iranian tourism industry and tourists to get acquainted with the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country, as well as to take part in tourism exhibitions. Kazakhstan pays special attention to strengthening sports ties and is pleased to welcome Iranian athletes to domestic competitions. We are open to strengthening cooperation in these areas," said Erbol Myrzabosynov.
In turn, Ali Akbar Jowkar noted the significant potential for further deepening Kazakh-Iranian relations based on common interests and confirmed the readiness of the Iranian side to contribute to increasing the tourist flow to Kazakhstan, following the successful experience of cooperation with Turkey, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The Ambassador also expressed interest in the development of tourist destinations, including medical tourism.
