Demolition of dilapidated housing has begun in Kokshetau

A housing renovation program has been launched in the regional center. The first area for renovation was the square of Ualikhanov – Gogol and Sain – Bykovsky streets, where the most dilapidated houses are compactly concentrated. Instead of six 8-apartment buildings, a modern housing complex will be built during the year.
"The renovation will create new social facilities, landscaped territories, green courtyards, a new urban environment, that is, it will have a multiplicative effect transforming the architectural "appearance" of the regional center, due to the construction of new housing, social facilities and engineering networks to them, the quality of life of the population as a whole will improve," Marat Akhmetzhanov stressed.
It is planned to demolish 75 dilapidated houses on this site and it will be possible to build new residential complexes and improve the living conditions of the order of citizens. At the initial stage, two residential buildings for 234 apartments will be built. The completion of the work is scheduled for autumn next year. Apartments for socially vulnerable segments of the population will also be purchased in these houses.
For the effective implementation of the renovation program, a management organization has been established at the KOKSHE SEC. The contractors will be determined on a competitive basis.
According to Azamat Baykuanyshev, deputy head of the regional department of Construction, Architecture and Urban Planning, 700 million tenge was allocated from the regional budget to create a housing stock. To date, 48 apartments in 6 houses have been purchased, residents have received money or apartments of the appropriate area at their choice.
By the way, this housing stock will subsequently be reinvested to relocate residents from other sites subject to renovation.
In general, renovation of 11 local zones is planned throughout the city, where dilapidated housing is compactly located. In total, about 800 private and apartment buildings will be demolished.
