On November 9, the World championship in sports and combat sambo among adults started in the capital's Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, which brought together athletes and fans from all over the world. The event, organized for the second time on the territory of Kazakhstan, brought together more than 470 athletes from 80 countries, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The highlight of the championship was the active support of Kazakhstani athletes by the youth of Astana, which literally delighted foreign guests. Young people actively supported the participants, filling the hall with loud cheers, waving flags and posters with warm wishes.
"Today we gathered with active youth to support our athletes participating in this prestigious tournament. We brought national flags to show our pride in the Kazakhstani sambo wrestlers. This is our gesture of support," said Arslanbek Magzum, deputy of the Maslikhat of Astana, stressing the importance of solidarity at international tournaments.
