The conference "Our response to Climate Change" on the results of climate projects was held in Astana

On October 23, 2024, a conference was held on the results of two important projects implemented by the Karaganda Regional Environmental Museum.
For reference: The project "Civil society participation in mitigating the effects of climate change in the Karaganda region" is aimed at attracting the attention of local communities and activists to the problems of climate change and developing measures to reduce climate risks. The second project, "Implementation of measures to adapt to climate change in the Karaganda region", which made it possible to implement specific actions to adapt to climate change in the region.
The conference was opened by Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mansur Oshurbayev. In his speech, he noted that sustainable development and environmental protection require the efforts of all parties — the state, business, international organizations, civil society and academia.
The conference brought together leading experts, representatives of non-governmental organizations, government agencies and international partners. Among the honored guests of the event were the Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan, Her Excellency Mrs. Alyoska Simkic, and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr. Pavol Shepelyak, who expressed their support for Kazakhstan's efforts in the field of climate policy and stressed the importance of international cooperation to achieve global goals.
The project is implemented by the NGO "Arnica" (Czech Republic) and the NGO "Karaganda Regional Ecological Museum". Project implementation period: March 2022 ‒ October 2024.
