The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to actively work on fire prevention during the heating period, which is traditionally characterized by a high risk of fire due to the active use of heating and heating appliances by citizens. In this regard, the agency is strengthening preventive work to minimize the number of fires and maximize the protection of citizens' lives and property.
One of the main tasks during this period is to reduce the number of fires in homes, especially among socially vulnerable segments of the population. The Ministry of Emergency Situations actively conducts yard rounds, raids, talks and briefings, reminding citizens of the basic safety rules for the operation of heating systems and electrical appliances.
Special attention in preventive work is paid to large families, pensioners, the disabled and other socially vulnerable categories of citizens. As part of the next yard raid in Astana, at the initiative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with volunteers, police and local executive bodies, a meeting was held with owners of private houses, who were reminded of the basic safety rules for the operation of heating equipment, stoves and electrical appliances. At the request of the residents, inspections of stoves and chimneys were carried out, and in case of violations, recommendations were given to eliminate them.
Today, during a preventive raid in Astana, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yerlan Turegeldiyev noted: "During the heating season, it is especially important to ensure the safety of citizens, since the use of heating appliances and stoves increases the risk of fires. We actively carry out preventive measures, informing people about the rules of safe handling of heating equipment and electrical appliances. Prevention is our main tool for preventing tragedies. We urge all residents to observe basic safety measures so that this heating season passes without troubles and losses."
In total, in preparation for the safe heating season, more than 100 thousand houses where socially vulnerable citizens live were covered by yard rounds. These measures make it possible to quickly identify potential threats and prevent possible emergencies.
In addition, together with akimats and volunteers, work is actively underway to install autonomous fire sensors in residential buildings. Since 2020, according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 107 thousand autonomous sensors have been installed in citizens' homes. Thanks to their timely work, 248 lives have been saved this year.
This year, during preventive measures, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees installed more than 14 thousand new sensors in the homes of socially vulnerable citizens. These devices provide early warning of fires, which significantly increases the safety of residents and helps reduce the number of fires.
Despite the efforts made to improve safety, 650 fires in the residential sector have been registered in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the heating period. As a result of these fires, 59 people were rescued, however, unfortunately, 31 people died, and 20 citizens received burns and poisoning by combustion products of varying severity. Gorenje
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds all citizens of the need to strictly comply with fire safety rules, especially during the heating season, when the risk of fires increases significantly.
We urge you to comply with the basic requirements of fire safety:
- use only serviceable stoves and electrical appliances;
- do not allow over-heating of furnaces and overload of power grids;
- clean the chimney of soot in time;
- regularly inspect the oven and electrical appliances for malfunctions;
- do not entrust the furnace to children;
- do not use flammable liquids for kindling.
