Consumer price index for Abay region for October 2024
The consumer price index for the region, which characterizes the level of inflation, for October 2024 compared to the previous month amounted to 100,9%.

Among food products, in October 2024, compared with September 2024, an increased in prices for eggs of the 1st category–by 5,2%, oils and fats–by 1,7% (sunflower oil–by 2,3%, butter unsalted–by 1,9%), tea–by 1,2%, tobacco products–by 1%, dairy products–by 0,6%, (cottage cheese 5-9%–by 2,1%, milk pasteurized–by 1%, kefir 2,5%, sour cream–by 0,6%, hard cheese–by 0,1%), confectionery products–by 0,5%, beef meat, semolina–by 0,2%, fructs and vegetables–by 0,1% (white cabbage–by 1,1%, onions–by 0,1%), fish and seafood, millet, alcoholic beverages–by 0,1%.
Beets became cheaper–by 4,2%, carrots–by 2,3%, sugar granulated–by 2%, potatoes–by 1,5%, cereals–by 0,4% (buckwheat groats–by 0,9%, oatmeal–by 0,2%, pearl barley–by 0,1%), rice, sausages–by 0,1%.
Of non-food products increased the price of solid fuel by 4,1%, pharmaceutical products–by 2,5%, liquefied gas (in cylinders)–by 2,4%, personal goods–by 2,1%, clothing and footwear–by 1,5%, detergents and cleaning products–by 1,3%, gasoline, materials for maintenance and repair of residential premises–by 0,1%.
For paid services, increased communication services–by 2,3%, passenger transport services–by 1,8%, hairdressing and personal care services–by 1,6%, outpatient services - by 1,4%.
Methodological explanations
The consumer price index (CPI), which characterizes the level of inflation, shows the change in prices for goods and services purchased by the population for personal consumption. The set of goods and services includes 508 items. Prices are registered using a selective network of trade and service enterprises of various forms of ownership in the regional center and a certain circle of cities and district centers. The system of weights used for aggregation in terms of their expenses is calculated on the basis of household survey materials for the previous year. Since January 2022, when building the CPI, the share of food products is 40,7%, non–food products – 30,2%, paid services–29,1%.
