Heavy snowfall continues to cover the capital, it has been snowing continuously since the morning. Due to the heavy precipitation, the city's utilities are working around the clock in an enhanced mode, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
On November 11, more than 1.3 thousand units of special equipment and more than 2.4 thousand road workers were involved in snow removal works in the capital.
First of all, according to the rules, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared so that there is no congestion on the roads. Also, areas with medium intensity are being removed from snow – squares, forecourts, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
On the night of November 10-11, more than 20 thousand cubic meters of snow or 2,096 flights of heavy trucks were taken out of the city to landfills.
Since the beginning of the snowfall, over 57 thousand cubic meters of snow have been exported to Astana in a week, which is 4,595 cargo flights.
Snow removal works are continuing in Astana.
