The event, chaired by Erik Dzhambulov, Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship Development Policy of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was attended by representatives from the private sector, trade unions, civil society, and governmental bodies.
As Erik Dzhambulov emphasized, issues pertaining to the protection of human rights in business activities are not merely formalities but rather a genuine necessity of our time. Kazakhstan, as an active participant in global processes and international initiatives, has undertaken several significant measures in this regard.
“We commit ourselves to adhering to international standards, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. “These principles provide a framework for business operations to not only yield economic advantages but also foster the development of a just, secure, and inclusive society,” he further stated.
Participants deliberated on the principal challenges regarding human rights that Kazakhstan enterprises encounter, as well as issues related to the interaction between the state and business, and the integration of human rights standards into corporate processes and procedures.
The Working Group will persist in its endeavors, with the subsequent session slated for November of this year, during which sectoral and thematic deliberations will take place.
