Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev got acquainted with the construction of a comfortable school for 1,500 places during a working detour of the Nauryzbay district.
The construction of the educational institution was started in August last year as part of the National project "Comfortable School". The training will take place in one shift.
In total, there are 12 public schools, 17 private schools and niches in Nauryzbai district, in which 32,896 children study. Taking into account population growth and active residential development, the shortage of student places remains. In the current academic year, the shortage of student places in this district is more than 4,298 places. To reduce the deficit to a manageable level, new schools for 6,900 places are being built in the district: on the territory of the residential complex "Alem City", the residential complex "Alma City-4", MKR. Kuramys and along Sabdenova Street. In addition, last year, construction began on an extension for 375 student places to school No. 174 in the MKR. Shugila.
During the working detour, the head of Almaty noted that by the next academic year, part of the city schools will be transferred to single-shift education.
"By September 1, 2025, thanks to the implementation of the Comfortable School project, it is planned to eliminate the deficit of about 30 thousand student places in the city. In the future, the city will cover the annual deficit associated with the growth of 3-4 thousand students on its own by building new schools, extensions and reconstructions," Yerbolat Dosayev said.
Following the results of the visit to the facility, the head of the city instructed to complete all work in accordance with the established schedule, namely by the end of this year, and ensure their high quality.
In parallel with the construction of the school, the urban mobility department is organizing an access road to the school and parking for 70 cars. By the end of the year, it is planned to complete work on the installation of the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement along the entire 605 m long road section. It is also planned to rebuild two water supply networks and two branches of pressure sewerage. The completion of these works is scheduled until November 30 this year.
