By order of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Genghis Arinov, for his courage and dedication shown in saving the life of a child from water, which occurred on October 27, 2024 in Almaty, a native of Kyzylorda, Alikhan Sakenuly Zhaksylyk was awarded the medal "Suga batkandardy kutkargany usin".
The award on behalf of the Minister of Emergency Situations was presented by the head of the Emergency Department of Almaty, Nurlan Atygaev.
"We express our gratitude to you for the immediate measures - thanks to your determination, we managed to prevent the tragedy and save the child",- the head of the Emergency Department noted.
According to Alikhan, who arrived from Kyzylorda, on October 27 this year at about 14:00, he walked along the Esentai River embankment in search of temporary housing. At the intersection of Makatayev Street, he heard cries for help from children and a few seconds later a child ran up to him asking for help to save his drowning friend. As Alikhan said, the child, while on the cascade of the Yesentai River, stumbled and fell into the water, he was caught up by a strong current, as a result of which, a threat to life was created.
Immediately jumping over the metal fence, Zhaksylyk A.S. began
to the rescue of a drowning man. Despite the threat of death, the young man rushed into the cold water and lifted the child to the surface, who at that time was already exhausted due to the large flow of water. The unwavering determination and quick actions of an active citizen have become an example of heroism and humanity. At that moment, when the child's life was in danger, he did everything possible to save him from a dangerous and hopeless situation.
