Training on gender expertise for representatives of government agencies has started in Astana

With the support of the National Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a two-day training organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with UN Women has started in Astana.
The purpose of the event is to train representatives of legal services of state bodies and interested organizations in the skills of gender expertise of normative legal acts.
Over the course of two days, they will explore important topics such as international legal standards, gender equality, gender mainstreaming and terminology analysis for use in regulatory documents.
The main speaker of the training is Marianna Muravyeva, Professor at the University of Helsinki, an expert in the field of gender analysis, author of gender expertise methods for normative acts.
It should be noted that the introduction of gender expertise of NPAs is one of the important aspects of ensuring and achieving gender equality. Currently, Kazakhstan has developed a methodology for the implementation of gender expertise of projects and existing regulatory legal acts, recommendations are given on the harmonization of the system of gender expertise of the country's legislation and its implementation into the system of legal analysis.
