The Paralympic sport of Boccia is being actively popularized in our region. This is a precision sports game belonging to the family of ball games, close to bowling, petanque and bowls, which have common origins in ancient games spread throughout the Roman Empire. The Boccia branch was opened last year at the sports club for people with disabilities. To date, 28 athletes train in this section.
At the Boccia Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was held at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Sports Complex in Astana, athletes from our region achieved outstanding results. Ruslan Yerembayev and Kenzhekan Baymuratov fulfilled the standard for the title of Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On October 24, 2024, they were awarded this title by an official order.
Ruslan Maksutovich Yerembayev was born on October 19, 1988 in Semey. After graduating from School No. 42 and Shakarim College, he continued his development as a professional and public figure. In 2021, Ruslan successfully completed the SMM course within the framework of the ITeachMe Public Foundation project in Almaty. In 2023, he enrolled at Alikhan Bokeikhan University with a degree in Law. Since 2022, Ruslan has been acting as a freelance adviser to the akim of the Abai region on issues of persons with disabilities, actively promoting their interests. At the same time, he develops his sports career in Boccia, a discipline that requires not only physical strength, but also strategic thinking.
Kenzhekan Zhunuskanovich Baymuratov was born on September 7, 1976 in the city of Shar. After completing his studies at the secondary school of the village of Cats, he connected his life with sports. In 2022, Kenjekan graduated from the Regional Sports College of the Olympic Reserve, and today works as a Boccia coach at a sports club for people with disabilities. As a member of the coordinating council of the city of Shar on issues of persons with disabilities, Kenjekan makes a significant contribution not only to the development of his wards, but also to improving their quality of life. His work helps to unlock the potential of athletes and popularize Paralympic sports in the region.
