The issue of school safety and road infrastructure was discussed in the akimat of the Abai region under the chairmanship of Akim of the Abai region Nurlan Urankhayev. In order to ensure the safety of children in educational institutions of the Abai region, 107 million tenge was allocated to equip educational institutions with the necessary security equipment. All educational institutions in the region are fully equipped with video cameras and alarm buttons.
According to the head of the Department of Education Nurzhan Akhmetkaliev, the installation of turnstiles continues: in public schools their number is 100%, in private schools – 85.7%, in institutions of additional education – 22.7%, in public colleges – 100%, in private colleges – 80%.
In addition, the Starlink satellite Internet system was introduced in 127 schools of the region, which will provide stable communication for educational institutions in remote areas, including Semey, Abai, Ayagoz, Beskaragai, Borodulikha and others. An application has also been submitted to connect 10 more schools to this system.
As part of the implementation of the National Video Monitoring System, using the Sergek VMS system, work is underway to connect educational institutions of the region to the regional operational center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. These measures are designed to increase the level of security and responsiveness to possible threats.
In order to improve the road infrastructure around educational institutions, monitoring of the condition of road signs, lighting and video surveillance near educational facilities was carried out. According to the results, a budget of 127 million tenge was determined for the necessary work to synchronize the infrastructure of 501 educational institutions with security requirements. It is recommended to install additional traffic lights, as well as information panels with the words "Children" and "Speed limit" to increase safety near schools.
In addition, it was proposed to extend the schedule of public transport in Semey until 21:00, and in Ayagoz – until 20:00, to ensure the convenience of students finishing classes in the evening shift.
"The safety of children is the most important thing. Therefore, it is necessary to speed up the regulation of infrastructure around schools. We will allocate the necessary funds. It is also necessary to consider the issue of extending the public transport schedule," said Akim of the region Nurlan Urankhayev.
