Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Eskarayev met with Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Daren Tang on the sidelines of the Diplomatic Conference on the Conclusion of an Agreement on Laws on Samples (SDCs).
The meeting was also attended by Madiyar Smadilovich Menilbekov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The Minister noted that the conclusion of the SDT is a historic event and an important step towards simplification and harmonization of international procedures for the protection of industrial designs. He also expressed the full support of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the adoption of SDCs within the framework of the ongoing conference.
Azamat Eskarayev thanked WIPO for its significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's innovative potential and outlined Kazakhstan's plans to participate in the WIPO Lex project aimed at exchanging legal information in the field of intellectual property, as well as upcoming events such as the republican Shapagat Invention Competition and the Astana International Forum scheduled for 2025.
