Today, a meeting of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ye.Nysanbayeva with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan - President SOR29 M.Babaev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current cooperation between the countries in the field of ecology and climate change. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of environmental protection.
The Memorandum is aimed at strengthening and developing long-term and effective cooperation between the countries on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, conservation and restoration of soil fertility, rational use of land, forest and mineral resources. Joint scientific research in the field of nature conservation, protection of rare and endangered species of animals and plants, and management of specially protected natural territories are also provided.
At the same time, the Memorandum provides for the exchange of experience in environmental protection and environmental safety, waste management, as well as maintaining environmental safety in the mining industry, including the management of tailings, waste and landfills.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed the hope that this Memorandum will give impetus to the further development of bilateral cooperation.
