East Kazakhstan Region students will improve environmental literacy

On October 30, at 11:00 a.m., within the framework of the environmental program "Taza Kazakhstan", a meeting was organized at Ust-Kamenogorsk Multidisciplinary Technological College (50 Lermontov Street), the head of the public association "Center for Environmental Development of Society" Tanir Yassy and a member of the Youth Affairs Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputy of the Ust-Kamenogorsk city Maslikhat Erbol Bakytzhan Yerbolkyzy with student youth to discuss respect for the environment and the implementation of the Eco Patrol project.
Eco Patrol is a pilot project that has been implemented since June this year. 120 young people from each rural district of the region took part in the project.
The main goal of the project is to coordinate the work of eco-volunteers, the formation of an ecological culture of youth.
To date, eco-patrols have conducted 73 events and collected over 10 tons of garbage.
Training seminars for volunteers were organized in all cities and districts of the region and clean-up days were held.
To date, according to the Taza Kazakhstan program, 204 parks and squares, 323 historical and cultural monuments and 859 social facilities have been cleaned. 7.0 thousand water bodies, 26 fountains, 370 km of irrigation ditches have been cleaned. 29 thousand tons of garbage were removed from 82 thousand courtyards of settlements. More than 75 thousand seedlings have been planted in settlements and the forest fund of the region.
In addition, in order to provide an accessible platform for processing applications from the public, the telegram bot "TazaQazBot" has been launched since July 5 of this year. So, since the beginning of the campaign "Taza Kazakhstan", the Police Department has revealed 5,967 violations of the Rules of landscaping, administrative fines of 25.9 million tenge have been imposed.
