The XII International Forum "Anti-counterfeit", dedicated to the protection and protection of intellectual property rights, will be held on December 5-6, 2024 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana. The forum will be organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the International Association "Anti-Counterfeit".
"Kazakhstan is a country interested in reducing the level of counterfeiting, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment and supporting fair competition. Countering the turnover of counterfeit products is one of the priorities of state policy aimed at strengthening confidence in the economy and ensuring legal protection of intellectual property. Kazakhstan actively cooperates with international organizations and partners to implement effective measures to reduce counterfeiting and create conditions for sustainable economic growth and innovative development," Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Eskarayev said.
As part of the business program of the forum, a Plenary session and 10 discussion sessions will be held on topical issues of legal regulation, customs control, consumer protection, development of electronic commerce, as well as the use of IT technologies in the field of intellectual property.
"The most effective is the system of measures to counteract the production and distribution of counterfeit and falsified products in the context of the functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union on the basis of joint, coordinated efforts of all states of the Union. In this context, it is necessary to focus, among other things, on the development of mechanisms that will help synchronize and simplify the processes of combating the spread of counterfeit goods. I am convinced that within the framework of the Anti-Counterfeit Forum, a professional discussion of these issues will take place, which will undoubtedly contribute to improving the effectiveness of combating the trafficking of counterfeit products in the market of the Eurasian Economic Union," said Minister of Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC Bakhyt Sultanov.
Representatives of ministries and departments, copyright holders, commodity producers, consumer associations, experts, representatives of professional communities and the media of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are invited to participate in the forum. This year, representatives of the diplomatic corps and companies from India, Iran, China, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are also invited to participate. The forum will be held in a hybrid format with the possibility of face-to-face and online participation via videoconference.
"The Anti-Counterfeit International Forum has established itself as one of the world's leading platforms for discussing and developing solutions in the field of intellectual property rights protection and market protection against counterfeit products. The Forum promotes constructive dialogue between government agencies, business, the scientific community and the public. We are grateful for the willingness of the Republic of Kazakhstan to host the event in 2024. I am sure that despite the tight deadlines, the forum will be organized at a decent level and with a high level of representation," said Vladislav Reznik, President of the International Anti-Counterfeit Association, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The results of the forum will be reflected in the Final Resolution containing recommendations on the harmonization of legislation of the EAEU countries. Wide coverage of the forum in the media of the EAEU member states and international media will ensure that attention is drawn to the most pressing issues.
For reference:
Since 2011, the International Association "Anti-Counterfeit" has been engaged in combating illegal trafficking of goods in the territory of the EAEU, implementing large-scale projects to protect citizens and businesses from counterfeit products. The Association advocates the synchronization of national legislations and excise taxes, organizes federal events, participates in the activities of government agencies and public organizations, attracts young people to fight illegal products and helps reduce the volume of the "gray" market in the EAEU countries.
