MEASURES TO STRENGTHEN EPIDEMIOLOGY SURVEILLANCE WERE DISCUSSED AT THE SEBC BOARD
Today, an expanded meeting of the Board of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee was held at the Ministry of Health under the chairmanship of the head of the department Akmaral Alnazarova, based on the results of 2024, at which a report was presented on the main areas of the SEBC's activities and tasks for the coming period. This is to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population by strengthening epidemiological surveillance for infectious and parasitic diseases.
"The Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee of the Ministry of Health regularly monitored 94 infections, and in 2024 the epidemiological situation for most infectious diseases remained stable, noted the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Kazakhstan Sarkhat Beisenova.
She said that no cases were registered for 16 nosologies. A decrease was achieved for 40 infections. The overall level of coverage with preventive vaccinations was achieved for all types of vaccines (95.3%).
Conducting routine and supplementary vaccinations within the framework of the national vaccination calendar made it possible to achieve a reduction in the incidence of infections such as measles and whooping cough.
In order to prevent the import and spread of infectious diseases across the state border, more than 6 million passengers underwent contactless thermometry on all types of transport in 2024, the Ministry of Health reported today at the final meeting of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee.
The sanitary and quarantine control service identified 63 passengers with high body temperature.
In addition, timely anti-epidemic measures to isolate 3 foci of cholera among arriving foreign passengers made it possible to prevent the spread of the disease among the population.
Also, in the event of the importation of particularly dangerous infections into the country, all necessary anti-epidemic, diagnostic, therapeutic and other measures were taken. It was noted that the preparation for the implementation of the measures was ensured.
As noted during the board meeting, the State Health Service will continue its work on further ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, increasing human resources and strengthening the material and technical equipment of the service, developing new approaches to the active prevention of violations in educational institutions without the use of administrative measures, increasing the capacity to provide public services, and improving the quality of work with applications.
