Today, an environmental fair called "Darmarka" and "EcoDay" was organized at the city's Friendship House to protect the environment and promote a sustainable lifestyle.

This event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and was aimed at supporting the republican environmental campaign "Clean Kazakhstan".

"Darmarka" is a social initiative aimed at changing consumer culture. Fair participants brought items from their homes that were in good condition but no longer needed and exchanged them with others for free. Clean and neat clothes, books, children's toys, and household items were accepted as part of the event. This initiative is aimed at increasing environmental responsibility by recycling excess items.

"EcoDay" is a campaign to collect recyclable waste. City residents had the opportunity to sell plastic (PET bottles), glass, paper, cardboard and aluminum cans. This campaign was organized to teach residents how to sort waste and to form an ecological culture.

The event was attended by the "New Wave" youth movement, the "German" cultural center in Shymkent, the "Second Life" charity foundation that helps homeless animals, the "Kind People of Shymkent" social initiative, and the "28 İlmek" social initiative.
