The heating season in the Abay region is underway in a regular mode. Also, the parameters of the heat carrier in the heat sources correspond to the regulatory indicators. This was reported by the head of the regional Energy and Housing and Communal Services Department, Zhandos Kairkhanov, at the akimat meeting chaired by the head of the region, Nurlan Urankhayev.
Today, the region is provided with centralized heat supply by 4 large heat sources with a capacity of more than 100 Gcal per hour and 41 with a capacity of less than 100 Gcal per hour. The number of autonomous boiler houses is 330. The total length of heat networks in the region is 401.8 km, of which 322 km belong to the city of Semey. The city of Semey is supplied with heat by 21 boiler houses and CHP No. 1 of the Teplokommunenergo MCC. In addition, there are 76 central heating points.
“Since the beginning of the heating season, the number of technological violations registered in the heat supply networks has significantly decreased. Specifically, compared to the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024, it decreased by 46%, and by 78% in heat sources. Also, emergency shutdowns recorded in power supply networks are 11% less than in the same period of the previous heating season. Emergency services eliminate technological violations in a timely manner and within the framework of regulatory regulations," the head of the regional department said.
The total need for coal in the region is 1 million 247 thousand tons. Of this, 83% of the coal needed by the population, 56% for heat sources, and 100% for social facilities were delivered. A joint schedule has been approved with Karazhyra JSC and KTZ JSC for the timely delivery of coal to the municipal and household sector and heat sources of the region. 16 coal sales points operate for the population and the municipal and household sector (12 railway junctions and 4 large warehouses). All facilities are equipped with the necessary equipment and parking lots for trucks. The department conducts daily monitoring of the need for and supply of coal to the settlements of the region.
"As part of preparations for the autumn-winter period of 2024-2025, 22 projects have been implemented in the region. Within the framework of these projects, work was carried out on 26.1 kilometers of heating networks and 17 heat sources, and 100% of the plan was implemented. Of these, 14.7 kilometers were reconstructed in the city of Semey, and 4.8 kilometers of networks and 10 heat sources were repaired. As a result of the work carried out, the wear and tear of the region's heating networks in 2024 decreased from 64.2% to 60.3%. And in 2025, as a result of the full completion of the remaining projects, as well as the implementation of two new projects, it is expected to reduce wear and tear to 57.6%," Zhandos Maratuly said in his report.
The akimat meeting discussed the receivables of regional enterprises, legal entities and individuals for utility services. In this regard, the regional head instructed to take specific measures and strengthen the fight against debt.
"For its part, the executive authorities will do everything possible to provide the region's residents with heat, water, and electricity. The issue of heating is under my personal control. However, I believe that consumers should feel their responsibility. It is worth considering that timely payment of utility bills will help us successfully complete the heating season. In this regard, I instruct my deputies and heads of departments, city and district akims to intensify work on debt repayment," the regional akim said.
