In the Abai region, the volume of gross regional product for the first 9 months of 2024 amounted to 104.2 percent. This was announced at a meeting of the akimat chaired by the regional akim Nurlan Urankhayev. At the meeting, the acting head of the Department of Economy and Budget Planning, Maria Osadchaya, reported on the results of socio-economic development of the past year and the tasks set for 2025. According to Maria Osadchaya, the largest share in the gross regional product belongs to the industry, domestic trade, agriculture, construction, transport and warehousing sectors.
“The region's foreign trade turnover for the first 11 months of 2024 amounted to 2.9 billion US dollars (1.5 trillion tenge), an increase of 227.2% compared to the corresponding period. Exports increased by 303.8%, imports by 123.7%. The bulk of foreign trade turnover is with the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation. In 2024, the state budget received 478.9 billion tenge in taxes and other mandatory payments from the region. As a result, the total growth compared to 2023 was 186.3%, including 194.3% in tax revenues,” said Maria Osadchaya, Acting Head of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning, in her report.
Tax revenues increased by 236.8%, bringing the republican budget to 343.3 billion tenge (in 2023 - 145.0 billion tenge), and the local budget to 135.6 billion tenge, with a growth rate of 121% (in 2023 - 112.1 billion tenge).
As a result of 2024, all indicators of the socio-economic development of the region, excluding the manufacturing industry, were met. In particular, the volume of industrial production last year reached 1.9 trillion tenge, which is 100.3% compared to 2023. The gross agricultural product reached 453.3 billion tenge, and the actual volume index was 107.7%. The plan was fulfilled in all districts. Milk production increased by 2.5%, meat production by 2.3%. In general, last year, state support in the region amounted to 48.7 billion tenge from budget funds and through the "Agrarian Credit Corporation" JSC, "KazAgroFinance" JSC.
The total area of housing put into operation in our region amounted to 363.2 thousand square meters, and the growth rate reached 100.2%. In order to provide socially vulnerable groups with housing, last year, 1,068 rental apartments with a total area of 80 thousand sq. m were purchased.
"It is planned to put 3 projects included in the investment projects pool of the region into operation this year. In particular, 327 new jobs will be created through the implementation of the projects "Creation of a production site for the assembly of vehicles with an increase in the share of production isolation on the basis of the administrative and production building" by "SemAz" LLP, "Construction of a sunflower oil refining shop with a bottling and packaging line" by "Qazaq astyq Group" LLP, "Production of paper and cardboard products" by "Kazpoligraf" LLP," the acting head of the department said.
The number of entities operating in small and medium-sized businesses increased by 101.7%, and the number of people employed in this sector increased by 105.4 thousand people. Last year, 9.8 billion tenge of state support was provided to entrepreneurs through the "Damu" fund. The volume of investments in the region is also 107% more than in 2023.
