Karaganda wrestlers won two gold and five bronze medals at the 16th Republican Kazakh wrestling tournament in Kyzylorda dedicated to the memory of Kazhymukan Munaytpasuly. This year, about 200 wrestlers from 12 regions of Kazakhstan participated in the competition.
Karaganda residents showed worthy results at a major sporting event. Arnur Komekpay won a gold medal in the 60 kg category.
Didar Berkenov became the champion in the 90 kg weight category.
- This is the first start of 2025 for our athletes. I consider the results shown to be excellent. There is progress compared to last year's tournament. At that time, we won only two silver medals, - said Bekzat Akhmetbekov, senior coach of the Kazakh wrestling Karaganda region.
Five of our wrestlers - Rakhanbek Sidoga, Shyngyz Toleuov, Aday Mubarak, Nurbek Koldasov and Erasyl Kuanysh - won bronze medals.
Currently, Karaganda wrestlers are preparing for the Kazakhstan Championship, which will be held in April.
