Leading GI experts highly appreciated Kazakhstan's contribution to the development of the industry

As part of the AI ​​Action Summit in Paris, the Minister of Digital Development of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiev and the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev held a series of meetings with leading artificial intelligence (AI) experts.
During the meeting with one of the world's leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence, Professor Fei-Fei Li of Stanford University, the Minister reported on the plans for the development of AI technologies in Kazakhstan and the achievements of domestic AI startups.

Fei-Fei Li is a scientist whom many call the "mother of AI." She created the largest image database called ImageNet and laid the foundation for modern computer vision technologies. His research has paved the way for significant advances in medical diagnostics, autonomous systems, and robotics.
Large language models and the KazLLM project were discussed at a meeting with Yann LeCun, Chief Scientist for AI at Meta and a pioneer in the field of deep learning.
One of Yann LeCun's most important achievements was the development of the LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI) language model, which has become the basis for many modern AI applications. In Kazakhstan, KazLLM was created on the basis of this architecture, which demonstrates the country's commitment to the use and development of AI technologies. International experts, especially Yann LeCun, highly appreciated this Kazakhstani project and left positive comments on social networks (pictured).
During the meeting, the Minister expressed his intention to develop artificial intelligence not only at the national level, but also at the regional level.

“We plan to continue cooperation with the Meta team in order to improve the KazLLM project and develop the AI ​​infrastructure in Kazakhstan. I also invited Yann LeCun to the upcoming Digital Bridge event, where we plan to discuss joint projects and deepen cooperation,” said Zhaslan Madiev.
The Minister met with Quentin Adam, founder of Clever Cloud. This company works in the field of IT automation and offers a platform that allows you to launch applications in programming languages ​​​​such as Java, Scala, Ruby, Node.js, PHP, Python with automatic scaling and recovery functions. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a research laboratory (R&D) in the field of cloud computing.
At a meeting with the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia, Jelena Begović, the activities of the international Alem.AI center and educational programs in the field of AI were discussed. The Serbian delegation is interested in Kazakhstan's achievements in this area and plans to visit Astana on a working visit to discuss cooperation in educational programs.
Minister Zhaslan Madiev met with Sandro Gianella, Head of Policy and Partnerships for Europe and the Middle East at OpenAI, and Julie Lavey, Head of Interaction with EU Countries.
OpenAI is a world-renowned research organization for the development of artificial intelligence, and its ChatGPT tool is widely known.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of introducing AI technologies into the e-government system. OpenAI experts highly appreciated Kazakhstan's developments in the field of AI and proposed holding a technical meeting with Kazakhstani developers. In addition, issues of ensuring data security and preventing the spread of personal information were discussed.
