KAMAL ORMANTAEV, THE FOUNDER OF PEDIATRIC SURGERY IN KAZAKHSTAN, DIES FROM LIFE

Today, the country's medical community suffered an irreparable loss. At the age of 89, the founder of pediatric surgery in Kazakhstan, pediatrician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician and Vice-President of the Academy of Preventive Medicine of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kamal Saruarovich Ormantayev passed away.
Kamal Saruarovich was born in 1936 in the Kyzylorda region. In 1953, he entered the Faculty of Pediatrics of the Almaty State Medical Institute and began his career in medicine. In 1968, he laid the foundation for the development of an entire scientific school and headed the Department of Pediatric Surgery of this institute. He was the director of the Scientific Center for Pediatrics and Children's Surgery (1980-1993).
During his distinguished career, he performed about 20,000 complex operations to save the lives of thousands of children. Thanks to his work, more than 1,500 practicing doctors were trained, many of whom became outstanding specialists in Kazakhstan and abroad.
The medical community of our country deeply mourns the passing of a great doctor, teacher, one of the best surgeons of our time, whose place and role in domestic medicine are truly unique. Kamal Ormantayev's name is inscribed in golden letters in the annals of Kazakh medicine.
His wisdom, competence, responsibility and love for his profession will remain an example for many generations of doctors who had the honor of working with him.

The Ministry of Health expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Kamal Saruarovich Ormantayev. The bright image of our mentor, the great pediatrician, will remain in our hearts forever.
