Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Yermek Kosherbayev held a meeting of the operational headquarters for emergency situations. It is worth noting that a high alert mode has been declared in the region since February 1.

Due to the sharp increase in air temperatures, control has been tightened in 72 areas of the region with a risk of flooding.

The head of the region instructed the city and district akims to prepare all necessary resources and monitor the water level in the rivers. Representatives of the responsible services should provide detailed instructions on the procedure for emergency situations.

According to the Kazhydromet forecast, the air temperature and precipitation will be above normal in March. In case of worsening conditions, 2,511 people, 935 vehicles, 46 swimming vehicles, and 242 motor pumps will be mobilized to combat flooding. In addition, 182 points with a total capacity of more than 21,000 people have been identified for the evacuation of citizens.

The readiness of hydraulic facilities in the region will be checked again soon. They are monitored daily. The operational headquarters has taken full control of the situation.
