The winners and prize-winners of the Asian Swimming Championship among schoolchildren, held in Bangkok (Thailand), returned to the country at the Astana International Airport, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The athletes were warmly welcomed by their parents, friends, fans, and the staff of the Children's and Youth Specialized Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 4 under the city's sports department.
At this prestigious competition, the capital's athletes demonstrated a high level of preparation and achieved excellent results. Defending the honor of the country in the competition, which brought together the best young swimmers in Asia, the capital's swimmers once again proved the potential of Kazakhstan in swimming, winning 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
“Today, we are very proud to welcome the athletes of our school. The Asian Swimming Championship is one of the largest and most prestigious swimming competitions on the continent. They demonstrated their skills and perseverance in this competition and deservedly defeated their opponents. This is the result of their hard work and the professional work of the coaches. Each medal is the result of tremendous work, this is a great achievement for our school and for Astana sports in general,” said Yerbol Orynbayuly, head of the Children's and Youth Specialized Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 4.
It should be noted that the swimmer who stood out among the capital's athletes is Khanzada Nurlybekova. She showed excellent results at several distances and took 2nd place overall. During the competition, she scored 259 points and became the owner of the “Best Athlete” Cup.
It should be noted that more than 1,500 athletes from 18 Asian countries participated in this year's competition, where young talents competed against each other.
