In January 2025, during negotiations between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov and the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut, the issues of transporting agricultural products from the Republic of Kazakhstan through the Russian Federation were resolved. Responding to a question regarding the lifting of restrictions by Rosselkhoznadzor, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Saparov noted that there were no issues with transit from the Russian side.

Currently, temporary restrictions have been imposed on the import of wheat, lentils and oilseeds into Russia. However, since Russia fully meets its needs for these types of products, the Russian market is not a target market for Kazakhstani producers.

Negotiations are ongoing to resolve the situation with the participation of representatives of the State Inspection Committee of the Agricultural Industry and Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Rosselkhoznadzor.
