As part of the Year of Working Professions declared by the Head of State, a large-scale festival "City of Working Professions" is being held at the EXPO exhibition center in Astana from February 11 to 15, 2025. The organizer is the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event is aimed at highlighting the importance of working professions, increasing their prestige, and encouraging young people to master in-demand professions.

On February 12 of this year, the Deputy Akim of Akmola region Dosulan Aitbayev, Chairman of the Maslikhat Beibut Zhusupov, Head of the Education Department Ainagul Baltasheva, Director of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs Yerkanat Muslimmanbek, deputies of the regional Maslikhat, and other delegation representatives attended the event and got acquainted with the work of the platforms.

"The festival was a vivid example of the harmonious functioning of the technical and vocational education system with business. "I was very impressed by the fact that leading enterprises and educational organizations are represented here, demonstrating the latest technologies, modern equipment and adapted educational programs that meet the current market requirements. Guests will be able to get acquainted with new and popular specialties offered by domestic colleges and communicate with potential employers," Dosulan Aitbayev noted.

Four colleges of the Akmola region presented their educational institutions and achievements in the field of training specialists at the festival.

- Kokshetau Higher Technical College of Mechanics  and the House of Highway Builders, which will allow you to get acquainted with the fields of mechanical engineering, construction and transport infrastructure.

- The Kokshetau Higher Multidisciplinary College of Civil Defense will organize a corner of firefighters and rescuers, where guests can get acquainted with the work of emergency workers.

- The Shchuchinsk Higher College of Forestry, Ecology and Tourism will prepare a House of Foresters and provide information about the specialties of nature protection, forestry and ecotourism.

- The Stepnogorsk Mining and Technical College will present a House of Enrichers, where you can get acquainted with specialties in the fields of mining, development and processing of minerals.

Eight thematic streets and 40 creative houses are presented on the territory of the exhibition center.

As part of the festival, guests will be able to visit thematic zones that reflect the main areas of worker professions, get acquainted with modern specialties, and listen to master classes from experienced specialists and experts. According to the organizers, more than 15,000 people visited the exhibition in the first two days.
