During three competitive days, from November 14 to 16, on the territory of the international exhibition center "EXPO", college students of the country will demonstrate their skills and abilities in the declared competencies.
Future welders and cooks, turners and hairdressers, locksmiths and designers, builders and IT specialists and many other students from Akmola - a team of 32 students will compete in all 30 competencies.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for raising the prestige of working professions. In accordance with the President's Message, 2025 has been declared the Year of Working Professions. Today, more than 5.5 thousand students study in 29 colleges of the region for work qualifications. There are about 14 thousand students for middle-level and applied bachelor's degree specialists, but they also provide for the development of working qualifications.
It should be noted that college educational programs are updated to meet professional standards and WorldSkills standards.
Employers also take an active part in the WorldSkills championships as independent experts, chair the commissions for qualification and demonstration exams.
All these forms of cooperation give enterprises the opportunity to adapt graduates to the requirements of their enterprise even at the stage of training without retraining.
Recall that since 2015, colleges in the region have been actively participating in the WorldSkills professional skills championships among students. Over the years, the Akmola team has won 33 gold, 20 silver, 26 bronze medals, 46 medallions of excellence.
Students of Akmola colleges as part of the national team of the Republic defend the honor of the country at International and European championships: The guys contributed 2 medals in the team competition, 1 silver, 5 bronze medals to the WorldSkills Kazakhstan piggy bank.
The "Olympiad of Workers" is being held in the capital of Kazakhstan for the ninth time. This year, over 500 students from all regions of the country are participating in it.
