On November 13, 2024, at the initiative of the Ethics Commissioner of the Ministry of Justice, a seminar on the prevention of gambling addiction (ludomania) was held for employees of structural divisions, territorial departments of justice and subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Justice
Ludomania is a pathological gambling addiction, that is, an uncontrolled hobby that can damage a person's financial situation, mental health and social relationships. The seminar highlighted the harm of ludomania, its first signs and ways to get rid of addiction. Clinical psychologist Zhannat Kenzhebaykyzy Nurkina gave advice on preventing addiction and presented practical recommendations to the participants.
The "Code of Ethics of Civil Servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the Law "On Combating Corruption in the Republic of Kazakhstan" set restrictions for civil servants to visit gambling establishments and participate in gambling. Compliance with these standards helps to maintain the prestige of civil servants and strengthen public trust.
During the seminar, the participants received comprehensive information and useful recommendations from the psychologist.
