Participation in the session on climate change, glaciers and regional cooperation at COP29

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev took part in an important session dedicated to the problems of melting glaciers in Central and Western Asia and strengthening regional cooperation in combating climate change. The event, held within the framework of COP29, brought together heads of environmental agencies and representatives of international climate organizations. The co-organizers were the Chairmanship of COP29, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The session began with key speeches by ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa, Investment Director of the Green Climate Fund Henry Gonzalez, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation to ensure sustainable water management in the region.
The event also saw the signing of the Declaration on Partnership between the Countries of Central and West Asia in the field of Climate Change, Glaciers and Cross-border Cooperation. Minister Yerlan Nysanbayev, together with colleagues from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, supported the declaration reflecting a common commitment to solving the problems of climate change and preserving glaciers.
