There are 918 pieces of equipment in Almaty for the winter period to service the city, 1,400 road workers can be involved in clearing roads and sidewalks. This was reported by the Department for the Development of the municipal infrastructure of the metropolis.
Currently, sanitary cleaning is carried out from 2,318 streets with a total length of over 2.7 thousand km.
The daily output of street cleaning equipment during the daytime is about 600 units and 800 road workers, 220 units of equipment and up to 250 road workers during the night shift.
Ten contractors completed preparatory work during the winter period of production bases, special equipment, rest rooms for drivers and road workers, purchase of deicing and fuel and lubricants, spare parts, trench tools, winter workwear, re-equipment of all-season equipment with the installation of a winter set of equipment, as well as coordination of locations of snow dumps.
Deicing materials have been prepared.
22 specialized vehicles were purchased to improve the quality and efficiency of work, as well as to update the fleet of the Almaty Tazalyk State Enterprise. Another 10 units will be purchased by the end of the year.
In case of heavy snowfall, the city's construction organizations will additionally provide up to 150 dump trucks and loaders, as well as up to 1,000 workers.
