Ulykbek Tnaliev, an inspector of the Department of Regional Development and Control of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived in the region on a working visit.
As part of the trip organized to check the level of preparedness for spring floods in the region and monitor the necessary measures, the inspector got acquainted with the condition of the Shulba hydroelectric power plant and drew attention to the accumulation of water reserves. Thus, it was instructed to carry out the prevention of spring floods.
Deputy Akim of the region Dimitri Garikov noted that due to the flood danger, preventive measures are being carried out in Semey and in all districts to clean watercourses, strengthen protective dams and prepare necessary equipment. This work is under the personal and constant control of the head of the region.
During the visit, other measures aimed at preventing emergencies in the region were also comprehensively discussed. According to industry experts, the ongoing work is aimed at minimizing the risk of floods in the spring period.
The inspector assessed the quality of the measures taken and instructed the responsible authorities to complete flood control measures in a timely manner and ensure full readiness.
