A large-scale action "Narcostop" was held in Almaty, aimed at combating illegal drug advertising on the facades of city buildings. The event was held with the support of the Youth Policy Department, the Prosecutor's Office and the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Almaty Police Department.
The purpose of this event is to explain the harm of drugs and encourage young people to a healthy lifestyle.
"The Narcostop campaign is not just about painting over inscriptions, but an important step towards ensuring a safe future for young people. Through such events, we want to explain the harm of drugs among young people, promote a healthy lifestyle and increase their responsibility to the environment," the organizers noted.
The action attracted about 200 volunteers, including representatives of active youth and public opinion leaders. They, together with the Almaty City Police Department, identified drug advertising sites and removed illegal inscriptions. During the raid, more than 100 advertisements written on the exterior walls of buildings were identified and destroyed within 1 day.
"We took part in this action and united for a common goal. We want to contribute to the destruction and suspension of the further spread of illegal drug advertising," said volunteer Bekturganov Kushkuat.
According to the organizers, this action is held regularly.
