The Department of Emergency Situations of the Mangystau region continues preventive measures to ensure fire safety in the residential sector in order to reduce the risks of fires during the heating period.
As part of the campaign "Safety for every home!", "Beware of carbon monoxide!", under the leadership of the head of the Emergency Department, M.S. Mukhanov, regular yard rounds were held in the private residential sector with an explanation of fire safety requirements and the installation of gas analyzer sensors in the homes of socially vulnerable segments of the population.
In total, more than 2.5 thousand houses of socially vulnerable groups of the population have been registered in the region, which are most at risk of fire, where all houses are covered by targeted preventive work by 100%.
One of the ways to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning in residential buildings is to install gas analyzers that determine the concentration of gas in rooms where heating boilers are installed.
"Since 2019, at the initiative of the Emergency Situations Ministry and akimats, more than 8.5 thousand sensors have been installed in the homes of citizens of socially vulnerable segments of the population, today about 1.5 thousand more sensors are being installed, which significantly increases the safety of residents and helps reduce the number of fires," said the head of the Emergency Situations Ministry M.S. Mukhanov.
In addition, as part of the wide promotion of fire safety during the heating season, the Department introduced an innovation in the form of a targeted video on the social network Instagram, as a result of which about 1 million readers were reached in a short time.
The work will continue until the end of the heating season.
